Prof.
Esteban Lafuente Professor in the School of Business at the Costa Rica Institute of Technology (ITCR). He is also Editor of Small Business Economics and Co-head of Research at the Vienna Institute for Global Studies (VIGS). His research mostly focuses on the economic analysis of organizations, with special emphasis on models of production economics, digitalization, and organizational behavior. In another research stream, he is interested in work safety practices and policies, and their economic benefits from an organizational and territorial perspective. Prof. Lafuente’s publication record includes a variety of articles published in, among others, Research Policy, Journal of Product Innovation Management, British Journal of Management, Small Business Economics, Regional Studies, International Journal of Production Economics, Journal of Business Research, Safety Science, and Journal of Safety Research. Speech Title: Escaping Management Studies’ Heritage: How Servitization bridges the Rigor–Relevance Gap Prof. Paul Matthyssens Emeritus Professor of Strategic Management at the University of Antwerp (MNG), Belgium and Global Business at the University of Milano-Bicocca (DEMS), Italy. He was the Dean of Antwerp Management School (2013-2018). Paul is/was visiting professor at institutes such as IEDC (Slovenia), DTU Business School (Denmark), GIM (India), University of Gdansk (Poland), Donghua University (China). Paul served on several peer review teams for AACSB in Africa, Asia and Europe (2017-2023) and acts as AACSB Mentor for Prince of Songkhla University (PSU) in Thailand. He is member of the Scientific Advice Committee of the European research institute VITO (2017-2026). His research on (digital) servitization and value innovation has been published in journals like IMM, JSM, Technovation, IJPE, and IJOPM. He received a Royal Distinction in the Netherlands (Officer in the Order of Orange-Nassau) for stimulating the industrial marketing and competitiveness of Dutch industry. |
